Carine Roifeld and Tom Ford

There are not a whole lot of names that go together as smoothly as Tom Ford and Carine Roitfeld - my as well be salt and pepper. Tom Ford's eye wear collection for Fall 2012 is absolutely breathtaking, and to top it off he brought in close friend Carine Roitfeld as the fashion editor for the campaign. The models are Kati Nescher and Jonas Kessler, making it merely impossible to not want each and every piece of eye wear. xxx

Team USA Uniform (Made in China)

With the Olympics just two weeks away, it is no doubt people are starting to pay attention to anything happening with London 2012. Recently there has been quite a bit of of controversy towards Ralph Lauren's uniforms for Team USA being made in China. The Olympics is one of the longest standing patriotic events, and it is only assumed that the clothing worn by the athletes during opening/closing ceremonies is made in their own country. Perhaps some of the smaller countries could get away with having uniforms made elsewhere, but for America, this is just unacceptable. Why? Because the American's are very patriotic and it should show in their clothing down to the very last stitch.

Yes, the fleeces for team USA from Salt Lake in 2002 were made in Canada - but people are beginning to pay attention to these things now, and it took no time at all for "Made in China" to be noticed. Being a former athlete myself, I think of the athletes in the opening/closing ceremonies or receiving a medal, representing the country they love, and wearing clothes from a country that is not your own. I guess this is just something that doesn't settle well with me, I would love to hear what anyone else has to say! xxx

Delightful Encounter: Vogue Italia

While looking around today, I came across some fantastic news - A girl I graduated high school with, Hilary Taylor, got herself into Vogue Italia! It is always pleasant to see anyone I know succeed, but of course it is always that much more special when it happens in the fashion industry. She is in the top right photo and the last two. Enjoy! xxx

Dresses To Die For

Elie Saab is nothing short of a genius when it comes to designing dresses for the female form. From lace to chiffon it is near impossible to not dream of owning a piece from any of his brilliant collections. This Lebanese designer stayed within a simple color palette, with black, nude, rose and sky blue being the base colors behind this Couture collection. The embroidery and the details in each and every dress is what makes each piece its own. Perhaps some say he didn't "take any creative leap," but really... he doesn't need to and the proof is right here.

So Presh.

iPhones in hand, two of the most powerful fashion icons took the most perfect picture this week. Finally, we all know what it would look like if Anna Wintour and Karl Lagerfeld went to prom together.

Chanel Couture Fall 2012

I am, and always will be, a loyal Chanel fanatic. My love for the late Coco Chanel and everyone who has surpassed her, is something that will never end. From the classics to the new exaggerations, Karl Lagerfeld always seems to surpass previous heights set, and for the better part, can be guaranteed to put on a good show. Regardless of what fashion week is going on, I always make time to look at Chanel.

Floral and classics were an obvious theme at the Fall 2012 Chanel Couture show, and seemingly a trend so far during fashion week. With many classics silhouettes brought back from the era of Coco Chanel herself, tied in with some floral lace, made for a brilliant collection. Many sexy plunging dresses and suits tailored to perfection can really captivate and entrance anyone who looks at this collection. Chanel has always had a way of making masculine sexy, and making each look different from the next. The final dress (the top image) is absolutely breathtaking, and stands as a definite favorite of mine against the rest of the collection. Enjoy my favorite looks from Chanel Fall Couture 2012!
