Hashtag New York Fashion Week

Beauty shot from WWD

I don't know if it is the mere fact that #NYFW has taken over the twitter world, or if it is the constant live streaming of shows, but New York Fashion Week got me good this year. I am obsessed with constantly checking the shows, leading me to find even more designers I did not know existed. It is killing me that I will be occupied for a good 8 hours tomorrow for a photo shoot - meaning I cannot just sit with my macbook and love life. Today was an interesting day in the world of fashion for me as one of my favorites - Prabal Gurung - took to the runway and stole my heart, yet again. Military style, neutral palette, sex appeal and I was sold. Chunky knits, leather accents and killer shoes were all an added bonus. Then I get told that one of my classmates here in Toronto flew down to NY to walk in Alexander Wang's show (check out last photo), so excited for her! New York Fashion Week has just begun already I am hooked. xxx

FNO Toronto

This past Thursday, Fashion's Night Out took over numerous cities around the world, and Toronto happened to be one of them. This was the first year that Toronto participated in FNO, (been running since 2009) and I can honestly say that I was not blown away. There was a fashion show at one of the larger shopping centers, and a huge party at Holt Renfrew (who were coincidentally were celebrating their 175th). There was free popcorn, drinks and some pink bottled diet coke (the line was about 200 people long), but it just didn't even compare to the huge party happening at the same time in NYC. It is hard when you are walking through Toronto and reading tweets from New York, where Anna Wintour and Victoria Beckham are at Bergdorfs. Needless to say, I intend on going to NYC for Fashion's Night Out one of these upcoming years. Oh well! Hopefully Toronto is better next year!

On a better note - I am back in school, busier than ever and got a new job working in the fashion resource room at my school (Second Cup wasn't quite my thing)! Also with my new job I will have way more time to blog, and keep up with the wonderful fashion industry.

Here are some photos from FNO in Toronto - oh, and I realized I need to figure out how to work my camera better, much easier to date OOTD's, than take photos out and about. Excuse the blurry photos, and lack of focus.

FASHION'S NIGHT OUT

It is finally here! I hope everyone living in a city hosting Fashion's Night Out, is hitting up the town tonight! As I am finally back in Toronto, I couldn't imagine spending this Thursdays night any differently. If you are going out for FNO tonight, I would love to hear about what you are doing!

I will be posting up the photos from tonight sometime this weekend! xxx

OBSESSED: & I just can't get enough.

School begins tomorrow, apartment is fully broken into, Fashion's Night Out is this week, and New York Fashion Week begins on Wednesday! Excuse my lack of posting, as it has been a busy week and I am working on getting back into the swing of things. I have posted about bracelets before, but here I am again with some obsessive photos I have found on Tumblr. Hope everyone has a fab week! xxx

Street Style: Hello September

Tomorrow I move back home to Toronto, definitely cannot wait to get back! I have been lacking in posts lately, because I am working so much, and packing when I am not working. Anyways - I was stumbling around on the wonderful world of the internet, and found these cute street style photos (all from Tumblr, I do not claim any of them). For me this fall means fashion week(s), New York (November), school starts up again, running a sustainability event, and a new apartment! These photos all get me excited for fall, jackets, sweaters and layers!

On another note, I think I am going to go blonde for the fall... dirty with some highlights. Oh, and everyone must try bamboo tea, it s subtle but amazing. You may not hear from me until Monday (I am hoping to make it for #bbloggers, but no promises), hope everyone has a great weekend! xxx

Vogue Always Brightens My Day

So the last couple days since returning from my vacation I have been feeling frumpy. Plus I have been packing a lot so my style has been Lululemon's and t-shirts, a.k.a. nothing worthy of snapping a photo. Also, I never feel like myself when I am down, but I may be heading back to the wonderful city of Toronto earlier - which would be fantastic!

On another note - while packing, I came across all of the Vogue magazine's I had in my old room, and I can tell you I am keeping each and every one of them. I love keeping old magazine's, they are great for inspiration or to look through on a rainy day. On Vogue.com they have released Anna Wintour's favorite shots from Vogue, and I thought that her first cover in November 1988 was just perfection. I decided to share because it is such a care free photo, and it has definitely brightened up my day! xxx

3 Day Getaway

After working more than full time at the cafe, it was perfect timing for a quick vacation to The Pas, Manitoba (Canada). It was quite the long drive from Winnipeg (6 hours), where I am spending a few months working this summer, but completely worth the drive!
