Daphne Guinness' Christie's Auction

Pieces of the legendary Daphne Guinness Collection is going to be auctioned off on June 27th 2012. Yes, its going to happen, Daphne Guinness is auctioning off some pieces out of her prestige closet. The proceeds of the auction are going to be given to the Isabella Blow Foundation, clearly. Daphne was very close to Blow, and bought her collection a few years after her passing in 2007. Prices for the over 100 couture items in the auction, range from £300 to £25,000. Many of the designer names include Alexander McQueen, Chanel, Balenciaga and Louis Vuitton. The Daphne Guinness Collection auction put on by Christie's is expected to raise over £100,000.

Adidas by Stella McCartney First Store Front

Saturday, May 26th 2012, the first storefront of Adidas by Stella McCartney will open in London. Stella's many collaborations over the past 8 years with Adidas have been extremely popular, and it was merely the next step in the right direction. With Stella McCartney designing the Great Britain Olympic team's uniform for London 2012, it is no doubt there will be some Olympic inspired pieces as the games get closer. The store is to showcase a premium sportswear collection, thus making it different that a typical Adidas. It is quite a coincidence that just over two month before the Olympics land in London, the designer of the GB uniform (sponsored by Adidas) is opening up a new store front with Adidas.

The man who is typically behind the camera, posed for Vogue Japan (to be released in the July issue). Karl Lagerfeld was photographed in front of the photos he took for Chanel's exhibit,The Little Black Jacket. There are 113 photographs in the exhibit, of celebrities wearing the Chanel staple, all personally taken by Lagerfeld and styled by Carine Roitfeld.

Yayoi Kusama, a world renowned Japanese artist, is teaming up with Louis Vuitton for a collaborative collection to be released in July (WWD). The collection will range from sleepwear, to accessories, all with Yayoi Kusama's special touch, DOTS, and lots of them! Dots are Kusamas claim to fame, her artwork is known world wide for being innovative and very appealing to the eye. Yayoi Kusama is 82 years old, and is joining in the high ranks of great artists who have previously collaborated with Louis Vuitton.

The latest buzz is the documentary that will be filmed during the making of Carine's magazine. This fall Carine Roitfeld is going to be unstoppable, and I personally can't wait.

It is finally official, Carine Roitfeld will be released her own fashion magazine. This upcoming September, she intends on bringing a new more edgy, modern, exotic twice annual magazine to the fashion industry. With it's release in September, we can only assume the other will be March, focusing on the two biggest changes in the fashion seasons. It is said to be more of a book, novelty, collectable than a simple magazine, and that is what it is intended to be.

For the third month in a row, Anna Wintour has placed a singer on the cover of US Vogue. April always brings the "shape issue" and putting Jlo as the front girl for the issue is the perfect fit. Jennifer Lopez was shot by Mario Testino, on the cover she is wearing Bottega Veneta.

The Heart Truth Fashion Show

On March 8, the 5th annual Heart Truth Fashion Show took place at the Carlu. Gene Simmons, Shannon Tweed, Tamara Taylor, Jesse Cruickshank, Natasha Gargiulo and Jully Black were just a few of the amazing Canadian celebrities that came out to support the Heart & Stroke Foundation in Canada. The show was an absolute success, and it was delightful to see a runway where personality meant just as much as the amazing designer dresses.

Many news reports have rolled in stating that Marc Jacobs most recent collection for Spring Summer 2012, has been stolen in transit on route to a press event. Unless found, there are no samples for editorials, this should be interesting.
