Editor-in-Chief of US Vogue, Anna Wintour is off to a great start in 2012. Politics and fashion have gone together for years, and it is without surprise that Wintour will be supporting Obama, for his 2012 re-election campaign. Her efforts in supporting him will be in a fashionable way (of course), by co-hosting an event with Scarlett Johansson, called Runway to Win. The event will showcase designs by names that only she could pull together, Marc Jacobs, Diane vo Furstenberg, Alexander Wang, Tory Burch and the list goes on... The exclusive designs will be available on runwaytowin.com with the proceeds benefiting the Obama Victory Fund.
As well this year Anna Wintour will be presented with an Ally for Equality reward, for her support as an outsider towards the LGBT community. She spoke out in May about gay marriage, “As far as I’m concerned, having the right to say ‘I Do’ is as fundamental as the right to vote.” She will be awarded the Ally at a gala dinner on February 4th.
